Enhanced Internationalization Features and Browser Support to Better Serve the World
EditLive! 7.6 Features
The release introduces enhanced internationalization features including new flexibility in creating content that includes right-to-left oriented text, such as Hebrew and Arabic. Content can now feature both right-to-left and left-to-right oriented content within the same document. Improvements to cursor positioning and extended character set support also make it easier to create documents in languages other than English.
Rendering engine improvements result in more accurate content, even when using complex styling and layouts. Styling and layouts imported from Microsoft Word are more true to the original document.
Stay On Track
Track changes enhancements more precisely capture content changes. Track changes, together with commenting features, make EditLive! an ideal environment for online content creation and collaboration.
Import
New error handling for large documents ensures that users receive feedback when attempting to load or import a very large document (e.g. several hundred pages) that cannot be rendered in EditLive!.

EditLive! provides a rich, full-featured, user friendly editing experience, but sometimes you have users that may not have Java installed and that can cause deployment headaches. For this situation you can use a JavaScript based editor instead, but then you must sacrifice functionality. So we've come up with a solution that gives you the best of both worlds and we call it Select Edit*. Select Edit combines the market's two leading rich text editors, EditLive! and Ephox Enterprise TinyMCE, into a single editor integration API. Select Edit offers the optimum combination of features and compatibility, ensuring the best possible editing experience.
Choose Java or Javascript
EditLive! is the standard for fully featured, Java-powered editing. When you need a lightweight, Javascript-based editor, Ephox Enterprise TinyMCE is the answer.
Customized Settings
Automatically select the best editor for your environment or choose your preferred editor on a case-by-case basis.

EditLive! Applet Download Size Decreased by 10%
A new compression algorithm for the EditLive! applet re-distributable file (editlivejava.jar) has resulted in a 10% decrease in applet download size.
Delete Table Command
This command can be used on tables in EditLive! and will remove the currently selected table from the document. It can be added to any toolbar or menu, including the inline table toolbar.

New to EditLive! 7.0
Commenting
Add context-based collaboration to all your online documents with new commenting capability in EditLive!. Comments in EditLive! work just like desktop word processors. Users can comment directly on any text or objects in a document and EditLive! will track the conversation. Available in the Enterprise Edition.
EditLive! Gets a Makeover
The most significant change Windows users will notice is that EditLive! has received a make over.
The old "so 2002" interface has been replaced with a sleek, modern, Web 2.0 inspired UI. (see above)
Autosave – Never lose your work again!
EditLive! is now the only web based editor to support Autosave. This functionality is available to all customers, including OEMs, as part of the EditLive! Professional Edition. EditLive!’s autosave does not require internet connectivity to work and will preserve your work even if you press the “Back” button, crash your browser, get disconnected from the Internet or your server session times out, etc.
Templating
Want richer content without losing your corporate styles? EditLive!’s new templating functionality delivers. With this new functionality, content administrators can create reusable content templates that use their web site styling and standards to the best effect and distribute these to users. Create great looking tables, floating sections, document templates and dynamic content with ease using EditLive! Templating. Available in the Enterprise Edition.

Import Rich Text Format (RTF) documents on OS X - now you can cleanly copy and paste content and retain semantic markup and layout information from any OS X application supporting RTF.
Clean Excel Import - Quickly and cleanly copy and paste compliant HTML content from Excel with Ephox’s market leading filter technologies.
Instant Relative Sizing – If you need to make your pages accessible for mobiles and the vision impaired then you need relative units (i.e. percentage sizes). With EditLive! 7.0 transform your old, non-compliant, pixel sized tables and sections into wonderful, compliant, percentage sized ones at the click of a button!
Start Up Time Improvements - EditLive! 7.0 continues the trend in better performance and starts up even faster than EditLive! 6.7.
